[As the scene sets itself, Zero Tolerance is walking through the back of the Oracle Arena where Riot in the Ring was held. Most of the talent has left by this time, and the newest and simultaneously the oldest family in the halls of the GWA is still in celebration mode. Cage and Faith are in the foreground, with Brewer off to the right side of the frame. They’re all wearing their Zero Tolerance shirts and holding duffle bags, prepared to exit the building.]
Ryan Cage: "What you people saw tonight was Zero Tolerance finish a job that the whole night couldn't seem to get done. The tension in that arena, the uncertainty of the future. That's something I bet the GWA hasn't felt in quite some time. That's what real talent does."
[Faith flashes Cage a wry smile and puts her hand on his shoulder.]
"All it took was her opening the door and us walking in and your small world just got a whole lot bigger and for that alone…"
[Cage lowers his sunglasses and looks at the camera.]
"You should be thanking us."
[The camera switches focus to Faith as she appears to have a few words of her own.]
Faith: "You're right, Ryan. They should be thanking us, but they will no doubt be lining up to try and save our souls. We're rotten to the core, the big bad, the list goes on. The silence in that arena last night was deafening as Zero Tolerance drew its line in the sand. Now let us all see who has the balls to try and cross it first.”
[The camera pans right as Brewer begins to speak. He’s now more visible as Cage and Faith chit chat among themselves.]
Brewer: “It feels good to be surrounded by people who can carry their own weight. I don't have to load everyone on my back and race for the finish line. I thought I had done all I could here in GWA. I won titles, awards, and made a shit ton of cash. I have wrestled all over the world and beaten everyone on this roster. As much as I thought the Firestarters would change the game it only scratched the surface. This is the real revolution and on Tuesday and Sunday nights it will be televised. Grab your popcorn and lock yourself in tight, It is going to be one hell of a roller coaster this season folks.”
[The long awaited Nick Blade steps through the middle of Faith and Cage to the forefront of the scene. He grins as the monologue begins.]
Nick Blade: “Greetings and fuckin' salutations. You know, I gotta say... I sat by for a few years now and frankly, I'm just not impressed. The common theme the entire time Nick Blade was around was always that if Zero Tolerance would just walk away, just for a few days, everything around the GWA would just turn up roses. All the mid-carders would suddenly become great. We wouldn't be here ruining their spotlight. They could just go on about their business as if everyone was in Hall of Fame contention at all times.
You know what I actually saw when Zero Tolerance left? Jobbers like Mike Lio become Hall of Famers. Doomtrain, who really should never even have his name come out of my mouth for any other reason than to explain to him how I want my bags packed… is somehow GWA's answer to everything. The GWA joined the era of every child who plays the game deserves to take home a trophy. Isn't that sweet? Do you know what day it was when I made the decision to remove my Hall of Fame rings?”
[Holds up his hands and waves his fingers in front of the camera to show their absence, before putting them back down and continuing.]
“The very minute Hunter Storms got inducted into the GWA Hall of Fame, I pawned those pieces of jewelry and opted out. Because at that moment I determined that those rings were worth nothing more than their weight in metal. That's the GWA that lives on, taking it's dying breaths in huge gulps, when Zero Tolerance walks away. Some of you may call it a coincidence the scene sucks once we're gone. Some may even think things are just peachy.
But when I was here, we didn't miss shows. They didn't get shutdown for low attendance because they couldn't sell the tickets. Back then if your World Champion couldn't sell the territory, you needed to move the belt around. I guess when you got no options, even riding the broken horse still beats walking."
[Blade suddenly stops walking and pulls down the Riot in the Ring poster obviously left over from the last PPV hanging on the wall in the lonesome hallway. He snickers, throws it on the ground behind him, and keeps walking.]
“We had new posters every month for every PPV. I leave for two or three years, come back and you got the same damn marketing material you had back then? Is the GWA completely bankrupt or do they just lack all forms of ambition? But more than the lack of legends or the slacking in promotions, we actually made talent. I took Faith under my wing when she came in and I taught her how to be a main eventer in this business. Michael Brewer won the World Title without me, that's a fact, but it wasn't until his classic feud with Nick Blade where people really started noticing what caliber of professional wrestler he truly was. The road in and out of the main event as a true legend has always went through Zero Tolerance. Either you make it to the moon or you sit on your couch with Tony Pride talking about what could have been.
Ask yourselves, who did these other Hall of Famers make other than themselves? Did they spend all their time burying people or did they help the future of this business? Doomtrains got a few wins and held a couple titles, but even Flippy could do that. It would appear to me that instead of building a foundation for the future over the last few years while we took a hiatus, the GWA just bumped its lower card up to Hall of Fame status and called it quits on trying to become more than they already are. Without evolution, everything becomes stale and dies eventually.”
[Shakes his head in pity and stares off into the distance for a moment, thinking to himself. He then motions for the camera to move in closer, like he has a secret to tell it.]
“But before I let you put the gravestone in the ground of the Global Wrestling Alliance... I think we’re gonna leave it spread-eagled, flat-backed on the mat looking at the lights just a couple more times. Prepare to hear that three count. We aint those half-ass Hall of Famers you been dealing with lately.”
[Wink and a smirk before transmission ends.]
