[Rockshade is in a Seattle hospital room after being injured by Rob Wyatt's Killjoy. His long awaited return to the ring was more tragic than triumphant, thanks in part to a premature save attempt from the GWA World Champion.]
"Why, Veronica? Why?"
[Rockshade is obviously not himself. His speech is slurred as the IV hooked to his arm takes focus.]
"I know I'm doped up, so forgive if I say something uncouth. But I must ask - did you do it on purpose, Veronica?"
[He adjusts his patient bracelet and looks thoroughly nonplussed.]
"It's a cutthroat business. I get it. Maybe my first mistake was making my intentions clear. I thought we would have some friendly competition, you know. I watch your back to give you every opportunity to hold onto that GWA World Title until Revelation. You watch mine to give me a fair shake at the Tournament of Bruises. And if we both played our cards right, perhaps we'd have the opportunity to main event this season's big show."
[He shakes his head, slowly, with extreme disappointment.]
"But I guess you had an ace up your sleeve, didn't you? You knew I had that match well in hand, but you entered the ring and "accidentally" kicked my head off. Right? Am I being a conspiracy theorist here, because Lord knows there was no reason for you to jump the gun like you did. And now this. I don't know if I'll get out of this hospital in time for the Tournament of Bruises, much less qualify for it. So cheers to you, Veronica. You got your way. You're still the sweet, innocent World Champion everyone adores and I'm the old, washed up man who doesn't know when to call it quits."
[This time, he grits his teeth.]
"Just know this. If there's one thing I learned in my years here, it's allies are hard to come by. With me on the shelf, just who will you turn to when the numbers are too much for you? Such a waste, Veronica. I hope I'm wrong about you."
