A camera feed initially opens up as static but after some fiddling done to the camera, the image becomes more clear as it shows Storms trying to adjust the position of the camera to ensure it's situated well enough with where it's resting.
"Is that good?"
He steps back from the device to examine his work, briefly looking off to the side before sitting on the couch behind him. He clasps his hands together, visibly struggling with what words to start with as his gaze focuses more on the floor rather than the camera itself.
"There are a lot of things that I want to address, but where to start, I don't know."
He looks up at the camera, his hands briefly covering the lower half of his face before withdrawing them and resting his elbows on his knees. A heavy sigh escapes his lips.
"Let's start from the beginning, shall we? A little over half a decade ago, I came into this company as a young, inexperienced wrestler by the name of Dynamo Crunch. How I came up with that name? God knows I don't remember, so don't bother trying to figure out how that name came to be. I was the rookie who wanted to make his mark in this industry, leave a legacy, become a legend somewhere. It didn't matter where I wound up as long as I knew I did something that would leave a lasting impression."
He uncomfortable scratches at the back of his head.
"Lord knows I've made a mark here, perhaps not in the most pleasant ways, but it doesn't deny the fact that I could be considered a legend in the modern day version of the Global Wrestling Alliance. We're not in the days anymore when the National Wrestling Council was a thing, hell we don't even see the likes of legends like Tony Pride, Idol Austin, "Sexy" Steve Sire, Mr. Sinister, the list goes on for a possible eternity. The point is that I've made myself known...at least here. Other places when I wasn't here and doing work for other promotions, I made myself known. I became a champion on more than one occasion. I set out to do what my mentor had become and that was a decorated veteran."
He raises his right hand to the camera, closed, but visibly there is a silver ring on his finger with some other etchings to it, but not visible enough for the camera to decipher.
"I even became a Hall of Famer here...as a Tag Team competitor."
Storms lets out another sigh.
"Am I proud of that accomplishment? To a degree, yes. Brewer, you taught me everything there is to tag wrestling. You, my friend, are one of the few people I know who are able to specialize in not only tag wrestling, but also singles competition. Something I wish I could also excel at, but alas, we all know that only lasted during the time I randomly came back and went on to beat you for the World Title at Thunderdome."
He chuckles.
"No hard feelings of course. Yet, as quick as I had returned, I left again out of frustration once more. The title I had been vying for so hard was in my hands, and then it was snatched away by Old Yeller. You all know who I'm talking about. The fact that he's back in GWA again is only slightly sickening, but what can you do? Some legends never die, but some need to learn when it's time to hang up the boots and leave them there on the shelf."
A shake of the head follows the statement, only adding to his disapproval.
"As much as I wish to see the day that I finally beat that old timer, there's only so much time I have left to offer this company...at least in the terms of putting on a show in the ring. When you're constantly finding yourself in a slump in only one promotion, it's sometimes hard to tell if it's a curse or if you're letting the days of old get back into your head again and I for one fall under the latter. Memories from days of old still linger in my mind, and there are some things I still refuse to let go even until death. My Showcase reign, my second World title reign, and there are some other things, but after taking so many knocks to the head, it's rather hard to recollect. Aside from those past problems, there still are present problems I have. Will I address them? Probably not since I don't want to start another fire."
He clears his throat.
"Moving on from the rant, the main reason why I'm recording this is to address my current status here in the Global Wrestling Alliance. As some of you may know, at least for those who stuck around after Spotlight this past Tuesday, I had a conversation with Greene about what I want to do with the company once I'm done wrestling...here, at least. I said that after Sunday, win or lose against Rex for the World Title, that I would stop wrestling in the company and join the commentary team in order to fill a void that's been there for some time. However, I have decided on a change of plans for my foreseeable future that will, at most, extend into next season."
His hands clasp together once more.
"When I made a return to the GWA, about a week or two before Thunderdome, it was only supposed to be a one-off thing. However, given how the outcome of the match went down, I couldn't escape so easily. Given the unfortunate circumstances regarding Dexter Point, it was me and Brewer left as the ones standing in line for the World Title shot at Red, White, Black, & Blue. Given how I think Rex is ultimately just trying to prove a point, he called me out as his initial challenger before the PPV to face him. Will I gladly accept, I know this is a possibility to ensure that I cement myself as a legend here. Now you're all probably wondering, 'How does this deal with your status?', well, I'll you why."
Storms an extra to stand himself up from his seat.
"The main reason is that I feel like there are some things I have left unfinished in this company. A decent World title run, a decent run as a singles competitor...honestly, when was the last time I had any of those? Rather than just up and leave in the middle of the process again, I intend to finish this season and then go into next season with the intent to become GWA World Champion again. Whether it be the third time, the fourth time, the fifth time, yada yada you get the point. Also, I want this to be known: Rockshade, I'm calling you out on this. Out of all the times I've wrestled here in the GWA, not once have I defeated you. I don't see myself cemented as a Singles Hall of Famer unless I defeat you at some point, whether it be this season or the next. Whether or not I get an answer anytime soon doesn't matter...I just want the match so I can finally claim that elusive victory against you."
He raises a clenched fist up to his chest.
"Sunday does not mark the storm finally passing, instead it marks the beginning of the final chapter I have here in GWA...and that's I promise I intend to keep, no matter what happens."
Taking a few steps forward, he reaches behind the camera, with the screen abruptly turning to black as the click of the power button is heard just beforehand.
"Is that good?"
He steps back from the device to examine his work, briefly looking off to the side before sitting on the couch behind him. He clasps his hands together, visibly struggling with what words to start with as his gaze focuses more on the floor rather than the camera itself.
